Anvil Press and the Copyright Controversy

I’m in the process of updating myself on the recent controversy centering about copyright issues and conceptual poetry in the Philippines. (If you haven’t already guessed, I’m Filipino American—not the same as being Filipino from the Philippines, but there is obviously some cultural/political overlap). Although I saw a few ominous rumblings in Facebook, etc., it didn’t come fully to my attention until I read this post from the prolific poet Eileen Tabios, who was published here in Local Nomad (Fall 2014 issue). Check out her post HERE, and Adam David’s blog post HERE. Charles Tan has also written an article, “2015: Manila’s Piss Poor Understanding of Copyright.”
