As we plan and develop programs for SCCCM (Salinas Chinatown Cultural Center & Museum), I am wondering about collaborators. Given that preserving the history of a marginalized neighborhood and educating the public about it is an important part of our mission (and for Asian Americans, the need to pay our respects and acknowledge the sacrifices of our ancestors is important), how can we combine that mission in a collaborative way, working with local artists and arts programs, and with writers and poets?
